Internships

Internships:

Chapel Valley has an internship program that is available at all of our branch locations. Limited housing is available for our Maryland branch on a first-come first-serve basis. The cost of housing is very reasonable with all utilities (excluding cable and internet) provided. The housing is shared with the students in the program and/or Chapel Valley employees, and is non-smoking.

Customized Internship:

Each intern will work with the recruiting staff to develop a program geared towards their personal interests and abilities. The intern’s goals and level of experience will be discussed and evaluated to develop their internship program. All first time interns will rotate and spend time working in each branch/department of the company.

Our rotational internship divides time among the follow branches/departments: Residential Landscape,Commercial Landscape, Residential Maintenance, Commercial Maintenance, Water Management, Design/Sales/Estimating, Hardscapes, Integrated Pest Management, and Corporate- Marketing/Human Resources/Accounting/Purchasing/Shop

Mentorship Program:

Each intern will be assigned a mentor, an employee at Chapel Valley, who will be able to provide guidance and support throughout the summer. The mentor will be available to meet with the student regarding their rotation schedule to help make any adjustments or suggestions.

The mentorship program allows the intern to have one point of contact to deal with any concerns that may arise over the summer. The mentors can provide valuable insight to the company and share their experiences at Chapel Valley.

Internship Benefits:

Internships provide a wealth of benefits many of which cannot be found in the classroom. Students will be able to gain hands on experience and explore areas of interest prior to graduation. They will learn proper techniques in a safety-minded, friendly environment, along with earning income to help offset tuition and other college expenses. Interns will gain a competitive edge when seeking employment and develop leadership and resource management skills.

Interning at Chapel Valley also allows the student the opportunity to explore the nation’s capitol and surrounding areas. Our Maryland branch is located approximately 45 miles from Washington, D.C. and a short 25 miles form Baltimore.
